New Bedside Table {Ikea Rast Hack}
Well, hello! Did you think I'd gone and disappeared!? It's been several weeks since my last blog post and I have no valid excuse for my absence. I just let life get busy, I guess! {or maybe I got lazy?!}
So, welcome back!
I'd like to share a project I've recently completed.
Several weeks ago, I finished re-decorating Emmie's bedroom. (You can read about it here, here, here, here, here and here.)
This is what the room looked like when I finished….
I loved the green nightstand, but felt like it was a touch short for the space. This little girls bedroom has an excessive amount of chapstick, rubber bands, pencils, notebooks and much more lying around. And that single, tiny drawer in the nightstand wasn't doing the job of containing all of those small items.
I didn't want to spend a ton of money….so went straight to Ikea.
Below is the Rast from Ikea. And it costs a whopping $34.99. Not too shabby! But very simple looking.
I'm certainly not the first to re-create this piece of furniture. Here is a peek at how some people have turned their plain purchase into a show stopper.
Isn't it amazing what a little TLC can do to an otherwise simple piece of furniture?
Here's a sneak peek at my bedside table. It wasn't a difficult project. And it fills the space so much better.
I will post complete pictures of the room in a few days when I get the new remote for my camera. My hope is that the remote will assist me in taking better pictures in low lighting! So come back soon for a final reveal!
